Introducing Leopard At the NTI in Birmingham
Apple’s accredited courses have been running at the NTI in Birmingham since it opened in 2006, alongside they also developed their own courses for users and technical support staff.
In response to the release of OS X 10.5 (Leopard), Peter Wickenden, the NTI’s technical trainer, has re-written the Users’ Overview course to cover the new features. Learn how easy it is to share files and/or your screen with other computers, how parental controls can record internet usage, filter unsuitable websites and restrict email and iChat contacts. Discover how to protect your files by using the back up features in Time Machine and how to take full advantage of the productivity/workflow improvements built into the new operating system, such as: Cover Flow, Stacks, Quick Look and Spaces – this, alongside the existing features such as the Dock and Sidebar, Exposé, Dashboard and Spotlight.
Peter is really looking forward to teaching the new course and showing its new features. He commented, “I have been working with Macs since 1987, so I have seen many operating systems upgrades. This upgrade is what Mac users have become accustomed to over the years, amongst the cosmetic changes are enhancements that are proving very useful. Under the bonnet are changes that make this new version noticeably smoother and quicker in operation.”
The course is a regular one day event running at the NTI, conveniently located in Birmingham City Centre. Each delegate gets a Mac to work on. Refreshments and lunch are provided.
